Encapsulation seals printed material between two protective layers of polyester with no exposed edges. This protects prints from dirt, dust, moisture, or the grubby fingers of the enquiring mind. Ideal for site plans and technical drawings, also useful in kitchens or washrooms where there is a humid atmosphere. Signs and posters can be wiped clean and disinfected so this process is great for sterile environment like hospitals.

Sizes of encapsulation range from credit card size up to 50” and as long as you like. We have a range of five different grades, and a choice of Matt or Gloss finish. A common misconception is that prints that have been encapsulated cannot be trimmed flush. This is not the case; prints can be trimmed flush and even cut into shapes, under normal cirumstances the film will not come off.

This process covers your oversized document with a thin layer of polypropylene or polyester film. It can be applied to one or both sides in either a matt or gloss finish. It is aimed at protecting the surface of the print for various reasons, i.e. to protect delicate toners from smudging throughout the finishing process, or just to enhance the appearance of a print.

Whether you want to mount your print straight to Foamex or Foamboard, or laminate the face first to give it added protection, this process is ideal for getting your print noticed. Perfect for ‘Point of Sale’ or Exhibition Stands.

The bind is made from a continuous metal wire forming a double loop spine (Wire-O). The advantages of this are the document can be opened flat or flipped 360o back on itself. Ideal for photocopying single pages. A wire bound document is a secure document in that pages cannot be removed or added without re-binding.
